| Alliance-Union Universe |
Basic requisities of C. J. Cherryh's Alliance-Union universe include ships that can travel faster than light and machines that can clone human beings and implant knowledge in their brains. Although most books set in this universe can stand alone, it is not a bad idea to read a few of the earlier ones first to get acquainted with the environment.
