Karen Traviss

A journalist by trade, Karen Traviss started her foray into the world of science fiction with a flurry of short stories. Published in Asimov's Science Fiction and Realms of Fantasy, many of the stories have also been noted with a honorable mention in the Year's Best Science Fiction anthologies. Her first novel, City of Pearl, has been nominated for the 2004 Philip K. Dick Award. Besides novels set in original worlds, Karen Traviss also contributes to the Halo, Star Wars, and Gears of War series.
