Same as Belgarath The Sorcerer, this is a book where the heroine of Belgariad (if you can't guess which one take a look at the title :-) recounts the events detailed in the series. The synopsis is therefore the same as that of Belgariad, with minor differences here and there ...

Review

Well, what can I say. The plot will hardly come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Belgariad, and will make little sense to the uninitiated. The level of detail changes from one page to another, sometimes skipping centuries in a few lines, sometimes stretching a couple of minutes over several pages. The interaction between characters somehow feels more crude than in Belgariad, making the characters look like caricatures of the originals ...

All in all, I would say the book is a lame attempt at making more money on the same theme (hopefully we won't have Belgariad baseball caps, Belgariad tattoo stickers and other 100% Original Belgariad Merchandise (TM) coming next). I give the book a mark of average, only because it reminds me of the witty dialogues in Belgariad itself.
