A prosperous UK mining company makes a stunning discovery. It appears that the small African country this company did a mining survey in owns a large deposit of platinum - only it seems unlikely that the current government would agree to grant the mining rights. The head of the mining company approaches the situation from the business perspective - surely nothing is wrong with exchanging the government if the expenses do not exceed the earnings ?

Review

The style of the book is very typical for Frederick Forsyth - a story with only one or two twists set against a very detailed and obviously painfully researched background. Unfortunately, sometimes the abundance of details seems to overshadow the plot itself, making the book look a bit like How To Start A War With Quickmart(TM) Ingredients Only. Other than that, it is not too bad - average on my scale.
